Environmental Markets Board
Facilitating the operation of high-integrity Environmental Markets in the UK
The Environmental Markets Board oversees the governance framework for participating Environmental Markets in the UK.
For each participating Environmental Market, the Board:
- ensures that there is a transparent, fair and efficient set of Market Rules in place
- authorises a Market Operator to run the Market, and monitors, reports and advises with the aim of securing their compliance with the Market Rules
- requires that Market Operators maintain the market infrastructures, systems and processes necessary to achieve genuine, lasting and additional environmental improvements, which are robustly verified and transparently documented.
